In the past couple of weeks, I have been talking about the importance of pulling permits in a home renovation project.  Permits are required in a home renovation which involves moving load-bearing walls, adding square footage to the home and or if the scope involves modifying any mechanicals.  If the customer decides not to have the job permitted, it’s recommended the contractor have them sign a lien waiver, in the event that the county stops the job, the contractor is free of any liability. Another important factor to keep in mind is you not only need to have a building permit pulled with your local city or county, but you may also need to have prior approval from your HOA which may include architectural plans. I’m Jaime with 3D Construction and I can walk you through the legal aspect of your project.  Introduce me to Darcy who is overwhelmed with the permitting process, I can help her navigate through the legal process and make her construction experience a positive one from the beginning.
